Ogels Flood Defence

Flood defences

Did you know that 34% of the UK is at risk of flooding?

The original idea behind the OGEL construction system was as a flood defence, and this is still one of its many uses.

The thing with flood barriers is that most of the time you don’t need one but when you do, it’s got to be: quick to assemble, easy to use in difficult conditions and it’s got to do its job, otherwise the results could be devastating.

Our system solves all three of these problems in the two different ways it can be deployed.

The OGEL flood defence system is designed to be fixed and semi-permanent, for the small amount of time you need it.

The beauty of our system is that we put waste plastic to work as a fast-build flood defence barrier, in essence solving a problem with a problem.

Safepod

1.6 billion people are living in sub-standard housing.

We always knew that an obvious application for OGEL was a disaster and homeless shelters. This is due to benefits such as its all-weather capabilities.

Now, more than ever, refugee shelters, disaster relief systems and homeless shelters are becoming a vital lifeline to those affected by humanity or nature.

Another application for our construction system is our safepod. A rapid building system that allows for temporary to semi-permanent housing solutions.

The beauty of our system is that it is modular so you can move it wherever you require it, secondly, it can withstand a wide-variety of harsh weathers.

Our system solves all three of these problems in the two different ways it can be deployed.
